MS Research
line

The MS Society actively advocates for increased federal and provincial funding of health research - the foundation on which MS Society-funded research is built.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society urges the government of Canada to increase its leadership role in health research – particularly in discovery research.  Discovery health research leads to fundamental knowledge that makes improvements to the health of Canadians possible. Discovery research will lead to the end of MS.

The MS Society is asking for an immediate change that will make a big difference:

Beginning with the 2010 budget, the federal government should commit an additional $350 million to discovery health research, with at least 70% directed to Canadian Institutes of Health Research, with continued increases in following years.

For more information, see our position on research in the MS Society brief to the Finance Committee.
