MS Carnation Campaign a blooming success
Communities in bloom
May 10-12, 2012 will mark the 36th annual MS Carnation Campaign. Communities across Ontario - and throughout Canada - will use the "power of the flower" to help end MS.
The campaign features the sale of bouquets and plants in shopping centres, office buildings, and other public spaces, as volunteers encourage the public to support "Mom" and the MS Society at the same time.
Why Mother's Day?
Held in conjunction with MS Awareness Month, the MS Carnation Campaign has raised more than $45 million since its inception in 1976. The campaign's timing just before Mother's Day is particularly appropriate since multiple sclerosis is diagnosed in women three times as often as men. Many people living with MS are mothers, and this unpredictable, often disabling disease affects entire families.
